i just re-watched the pilot episode of the X-Files.
Wow...
though i've seen it before, i never realized that the entire series is capsulized in the pilot episode. Billie Myles is there; smoking man is there; the abduction signs are there; and all of the later connections are all laid out in this episode too.
i have a great appreciation for writing [i did teach it for many years] and seeing this episode again made me realize that beyond the general topics/premises of the series, the writing is so superb that it made people come back for more.
